Honor Play 8A Rolled Out for Sales

The Honor Play 8A price starts at 799 yuan (roughly Rs. 8,155) for the 32GB storage version while the 64GB storage version of the smartphone is priced at 999 yuan (roughly Rs. 10,195). The Honor Play 8A has been launched in Blue, Red, Gold and Black colour options and it will go on sale in China starting from January 9. There has been no word on its global launch as of now.

Honor Play 8A has been launched by the Chinese smartphone maker as a new budget smartphone which comes with an overclocked processor for gaming. The Honor Play 8A is also one of the cheapest smartphones to be powered by the 2.3GHz Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P35 12nm processor and comes with a very design but features a waterdrop notch display.

It should be noted that Honor Play 8A is not essentially a performance-oriented smartphone, however, it does come with some of the benchmark features seen in the budget smartphone segment. The Honor Play 8A comes with a two-tone design, face unlock that can scan 1024 facial points and more.

The Honor Play 8A sports a 6-inch HD+ (1560 × 720 pixels) FullView display with 19:5:9 aspect ratio, 2.5D curved glass and an unspecified protection. The smartphone is powered by the 2.3GHz ARM Cortex A53 Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P35 12nm SoC coupled with IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU for graphics. The Honor Play 8A further comes with 3GB of RAM, 32GB / 64GB of inbuilt storage, expandable up to 512GB with a microSD card.

The Honor Play 8A runs Android 9.0 (Pie) with EMUI 9.0 on top while the device comes with Dual SIM (nano + nano + microSD) connectivity. For optics, there is a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/1.8 aperture and  LED flash along with the 8-megapixel front-facing camera featuring f/2.0 aperture. Other features of the smartphone include Dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and a 3000mAh battery.
