NTA: NEET 2019 Eligibilty criteria, Important dates on


National Testing Agency, NTA would soon be releasing the online application forms for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET 2019. As per the official schedule, NEET 2019 registration would begin on from November 1, 2018. Students interested in applying for undergraduate medical and dental courses are required to qualify the NEET 2019. Also, as per the last order, students planning to do medicine from abroad are also required to qualify NEET examinations. Check the eligibility criteria for NEET under NTA.

Please note that there is no expected change in the eligibility criteria for NEET under NTA. For most part, NEET 2019 would be similar to NEET 2018 which was conducted by CBSE. The examination would be conducted in pen and paper format on one day across the country. Important Dates for NEET 2019 are summarised below for quick reference.

NEET 2019: Important Dates

  • Start of registration and filling of online application form – November 1, 2018
  • Last date to fill online application forms/ pay fees – November 30, 2018
  • Admit Card Download: April 15, 2019
  • Date of Examination: May 5, 2019
  • Date of Results: June 5, 2019

NEET 2019: Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit: As per previous notifications, age limit for NEET 2019 would be 17 years to 25 years of age. The age is expected to be calculated as on the date of the examinations – which is May 5, 2019.

Educational Qualification: Students are required to have completed full time course in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (or Biotechnology) at the intermediate level. Please be informed that students who have appeared for the said courses from open are not eligible to apply. Also, English language is also required.

There is no cap on the number of attempts as such. There was a suggestion of capping the number of attempts to 3. However, this decision as retracted after intervention.

All the students and parents are also advised to note that the eligibility criteria, as marked, is only indicative and based on the eligibility criteria for NEET 2018. They are advised to check the official notification once released by NTA. NTA is scheduled to release the official notification for NEET 2019 on October 31, 2018 on and start the registration from November 1, 2018.
