CBI Raids Integrity Is In Question!

Addressing a press conference after the entire fracas unfolded in West Bengal, O’Brien accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah of putting the Constitution in danger. “PM Modi has to go, Amit Shah has to go, otherwise the Constitution is in danger, institutions are in danger and the country is in danger. Alok Verma To Join Work for One Day

The Home Ministry’s reply in response to a request by Alok Verma to consider him superannuated from January 11 after he was moved out of the post of CBI Director by the high-power selection committee chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 10.

After Verma, It’s Asthana Turn to Get Transferred

On October 15, the CBI had booked Rakesh Asthana and Satish Sana Babu, a businessman from Hyderabad, for alleged corruption. Later in the day, the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) had also shot off a letter to the then CBI Director Alok Kumar Verma conveying the apprehensions of Asthana of “bias and prejudice” in case of an investigation against him. Verma too slapped a counter case against Asthana.

Selection of CBI Chief Gets Delayed

The Supreme Court had on Tuesday conditionally reinstated Verma as the CBI chief a day earlier, months after the government divested him of the duties of the director following an internal feud with his deputy Rakesh Asthana in the agency.

CBI Probe Against Christian Michel Intensifies

The CBI has been given five-day custody of Michel. Officials said that in these five days the focus will be to gather information about the money trail of AgustaWestland bribery case.
